cze Podpora blended learningu v kurzech odborné angličtiny: střídání modů "online", "offline" a "onstage" Cílem článku je analyzovat potenciál konkrétních formátů blended learnigu, využívaných v kurzech odborného anglického jazyka v českém vzdělávacím kontextu. Teoretický základ proto představují některé současné globální trendy v oblasti učení, jako např. osobní učební prostředí, gamifikace nebo sociální učení, s konkrétními odkazy do oblasti lingvodidaktiky, a to konkrétně na koncept tzv. task-based learning. Blended learning je zde tedy používán jako konceptuální rámec pro design konkrétních integrovaných učebních úkolů, zacílených na rozvoj dovedností sebeprezentace studenta jak v online prostředí tak i v prostředí školní třídy. Vedle toho jsou možné alternativy designu konkrétních učebních úkolů zvažovány rovněž z hlediska jejich primárního zaměření na obecnou či odbornou angličtinu. Empirická část přináší výsledky menšího šetření, které bylo realizováno ve dvou specifických oblastech odborné angličtiny, jimiž jsou angličtina pro dopravu a angličtina pro zdravotní studia. Zvolený výzkumný design případové studie čerpá z potenciálu smíšeného metodologického přístupu ve společenskovědních disciplínách. Kvantitativní data byla sbírána pomocí strukturovaného dotazníku a analyzována za použití relevantních metod statistické analýzy (chí-kvadrát, t-test, korelační statistika). Kvalitativní část byla zaměřena na identifikaci klíčových kategorií prostřednictvím obsahové analýzy studentské autentické jazykové produkce v rámci konkrétních integrovaných úkolů, realizovaných formou blended learningu. Výsledky výzkumu nabízejí komplexní vyhodnocení tří různých formátů úkolů realizovaných formou blended learningu, realizovaných s různým stupněm zařazení "online" složky prostřednictvím LMS Moodle. Každý z uvedených tří úkolů však obsahoval jako "offline" složku úkol realizování mluvené prezentace. Analýza se rovněž zaměřuje na studentské percepce sebeprezentačních "onstage" aspektů těch úkolů, které obsahovaly online diskusní fórum. Naše zjištění nastiňují, že realizace integrova
eng Supporting Blended Learning in ESP Courses: Switching Between “Online”, “Offline” and “Onstage” The aim of the paper is to analyse the potential of the particular blended learning formats applied within the university courses of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in the Czech educational context. The theoretical background is thus represented by some of the current global learning trends, such as personal learning environments, gamification or social learning, with relevant references to the area of foreign language teaching methodology, namely to the issues of task-based learning. From this perspective, blended approach is used as a conceptual framework for designing the particular integrated learning tasks, directed towards the development of students´ self-presentation skills in an online environment as well as in the classroom setting. Moreover, the task design options are considered in terms of their primary focus either on the area of general English or the field of ESP. The empirical part presents the results of our small-scale research, which was carried out in two specific areas of ESP, namely English for transport and English for health studies. The selected case study design draws on the potential of mixed methods approaches in social research. The quantitative data were collected via a structured questionnaire and analysed using the relevant statistical methods (chi-square, t-test, and correlational statistics). The qualitative part was focused on identifying the emerging categories through the content analysis of the students´ authentic language production within the particular integrated blended assignment. The research outcomes offer a complex evaluation of three different blended task formats with various degrees of involvement of their “online” components in the LMS Moodle. Besides, each of the aforementioned blended assignments included the task of an oral classroom presentation as its “offline” component.
