Instagram and LinkedIn at the University: Two Language Learning Scenarios in ESP Courses

cze	Instagram a LinkedIn v univerzitním kontextu: dva možné scénáře pro procesy učení se odborného anglického jazyka	Článek představuje dvě specifické alternativy rozvoje jazykových kompetencí v oblasti profesně orientovaného jazyka v kurzech odborné angličtiny, vyučovaných na univerzitní úrovni. Za tyto dva učební "scénáře" byly zvoleny sociální sítě Instagram a LinkedIn, využívané za účelem rozšíření formálního kurikula předmětu odborný anglický jazyk směrem k informálním a neformálním učebním kontextům. Analýza studentské jazykové produkce v rámci výše zmíněných sociálních sítí je tedy strukturována podle nově formulovaných deskriptorů konkrétních úrovní jazykové kompetence v kategoriích tzv. "online interakce", jak ji obsahuje nedávno revidovaný dokument CEFR (2018). Dále se článek zaměřuje na téma tzv. sociálního učení ve vztahu k žádoucím aspektům interakce v různých typech online prostředí. Článek rovněž nabízí výsledky menšího šetření, realizovaného v rámci skupin studentů magisterských programů v dopravních oborech v českém vzdělávacím kontextu. Empirická data byla poskytnuta prostřednictvím obsahové analýzy dvou typu profesně zaměřené jazykové produkce. Jednalo se o studentské reálné příspěvky na platformě Instagram a rovněž o jimi vytvořený personalizovaný materiál, strukturovaný dle kategorií platformy LinkedIn, jehož vypracování bylo realizováno v rámci modulu Workshop v e-learningovém kurzu v LMS Moodle. V souladu s interaktivním designem úkolů definovaných pro práci s platformami Instagram i LinkedIn jsou v analýze studentské jazykové produkce reflektovány rovněž aspekty kooperativního učení. Článek rovněž obsahuje studentskou subjektivní zpětnou vazbu k očekávané roli učitele v rámci projektu Instagram i LinkedIn, a to ve vztahu k vnímané užitečnosti obou těchto projektů. Na základě těchto výzkumných zjištění jsou příslušné závěry zformulovány na úrovni potenciální přidané hodnoty sociálních médií v oblasti učení se cizího jazyka v terciárním vzdělávání.
eng	Instagram and LinkedIn at the University: Two Language Learning Scenarios in ESP Courses	The paper presents two specific alternatives of enhancing the students´ command of professionally-related language within the ESP (English for Specific Purposes) courses taught at the university level. These two language learning “scenarios” are represented by the social networks Instagram and LinkedIn, which are used in order to extend the scope of formal ESP learning curricula towards informal and non-formal learning contexts. The analysis of the students´ language production within the aforementioned social networks is therefore structured according to the newly formulated descriptors of the individual levels of foreign language competence in the category “online interaction”, as stated in the recently updated document Common European Framework for Languages (2018). Besides, the issues of social learning are being addressed with regard to the desirable aspects of interaction in online environments. The paper also offers the results of a small-scale investigation which was carried out within the group of students of Master degree programmes in the field of transport engineering in the Czech educational context. The empirical evidence is provided by means of content analysis of two types of professionally relevant language production: the students´ real posts on the Instagram platform as well as their personalized self-presentation material structured according to the categories of the LinkedIn platform, which was peer-reviewed within the module Workshop of the particular eLearning course in LMS Moodle. In accordance with the interactive design of both the Instagram and LinkedIn tasks, the issues of collaborative learning are reflected in the analysis of the students´ language production, and besides, the students´ subjective comments related to the expected roles of teacher within the Instagram / LinkedIn project are listed with regard to the perceived usefulness of both online projects.
